Ergonomics in the Work Place
Ergonomic & Body Mechanics class for employees and supervisors:
- Team or department specific presentations for employees to review key components of job which may lead to overuse/ fatigue MSDs.
- Classes include basic anatomy, visual aids, postural and positional awareness cues provided to the employee for improve their awareness for prevention, care and avoidance of injuries.
- Provides the employee the tools for “owning” their health, wellness, and injury outcomes.
Ergonomic Projects:
- Functional Demand Evaluations of each job on-site
- Ergonomic Office Assessments
- Job and task risk assessments
- Database of all physical demands including max weight, and frequency of vibratory/ impact tool use.
- Restricted duty job list
- Rotation planning and training suggestions
- Consultant in ergonomic committee meetings.
- Ergonomic contributions to department safety.
- Consult with engineering on equipment.
- Hand vibration and tool evaluations.
- Lifting labs
- Grip Testing for injury prevention programs
- Baseline, following an injury, and cumulative testing to compare job effects on the employees.
Early Intervention Professional attendance at team start up meeting and floor walks:
- Employees can alert Early Intervention Professional to look at a specific job or tool to evaluate it’s ergonomic and biomechanical components/ cautions.
- Flexibility program instruction
